Galaxy Note N7000 gets Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean test firmware : N7000XXLSA Rooting Guide

Samsung Galaxy Note users can now have Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2. This is a test firmware that should be flashed using Odin. The firmware N7000XXLSA is the first JB 4.1.2 root for Galaxy Note. The update brings some great features that could be in the official Jelly Bean 4.1.2. The list includes many which were introduced by Samsung in galaxy Note 2 like Multi-View (Multi Windows Multitasking), Smart Rotation and  new Widgets of Galaxy S III. Download links and rooting methods are explained below. Odin version 3.04 is used.

How to Flash

  • Unzip the dowloaded file
  • Open Odin 3.04 (http://www.crackerspot.info/2012/05/download-odin-304-software-for-updating.html)
  • Restart phone in download mode
  • Connect phone to pc
  • Add CODE_N7000XXLSA_549786_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5 to PDA
  • Add MODEM_N7000XXLSA_REV_05_CL1222228.tar.md5 to PHONE
  • Add CSC_OXA_N7000OXALSA_549786_REV02_user_low_ship.tar .md5 to CSC
  • Make sure re-partition NOT ticked
  • Start flash
  • Wait until Odin finishes the job
Note  : download mode = Home+power+vol down

Official ICS 4.0.3 Released for International Galaxy Note GT-N7000

We already posted the unofficial rooting tutorial of  ICS 4.0.3 N7000XXLPY for Galaxy Note in a previous post. The official IceCream Sandwich 4.0.3 N7000XXLPY update has now released that can be rooted using Odin..

 CynogenMod is a free community built firmware of Android. It is developed by the people who are good at development in Android community.  The latest  CyanogenMod 9  is available now for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. The download links for the  CyanogenMod 9  is is provided below.

How to Root Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 : CWM Recovery & Superuser on Galaxy Note


Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 is the latest member to the Galaxy family , which is having a S pen input option and a Giant 5.3 inch HD AMOLED screen. Galaxy N7000 is actually a device which can be considered in between a Tablet and mobile phones. Believe it or not Galaxy Note firmware is already breached and now you can root your Galaxy Note easily by following instructions given here.



**Please note that rooting your device will void your warranty.. Please do it at your own Risk**

Just for few newbie, Rooting is a process in which you get access to system files and folder. Rooting may be useful if you want to install a App (like overclocking) in your device which need to modify secure system settings. Although rooting your device will void the warranty of the handset.

Ok... If you have decided to root your Galaxy Note just follow the steps below -

Prerequisites
Step to install CWM Recovery & then Root your Note N7000

1. Installing/flashing CWM Recovery on Galaxy Note
  • Completely Switch off your Galaxy Note (wait for vibration to confirm switch off)
  • Switch on in Download mode by pressing Vol Down + Home Button + Power button simultaneously
  • You will see a warning for installing custom firmware, just confirm it by pressing Vol Up and enter in download mode.
  • Start ODIN software on your PC
  • Connect your Galaxy Note to your PC via USB cable
  • Now you should see "Added" in ODIN message box, if not please check and install Samsung USB drivers again.
  • Click on PDA tab and browse the CWM recovery kernel file
  • Don`t change any other option in Odin, make sure Re-Partition is not checked
  • Press start button and you will be done within 2 minutes and Odin will show as Pass.
  • Now you mobile will reboot automatically
CWM Recovery is flashed, Now its time to root your device by installing Superuser
  • Completely Switch off your Galaxy Note (wait for vibration to confirm switch off)
  • Switch on in CWM recovery mode by pressing Vol Up + Home Button + Power button simultaneously
  • Click on to “install zip from SD card” (Use Vol keys to scroll)
  • Select Zip from SD card >> select the superuser ZIP file
  • After the ZIP is installed, reboot the device by going to main menu
Now your Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 is rooted.
